You really don't want to come into this franchise late into the story. That's why I suggest newcomers either start with the first game or Birth By Sleep. I don't envy the poor localization team that has to try to make this nonsense sound convincing and coherent. And that's just the tip of the depths of insanity that this franchise has dipped into story-wise. Then again, this is the franchise where a main character has at least three different personalities, and where another major character has had at least three versions of himself running around (and a large chunk of the recurring cast have had two versions of themselves running around). Leonard Nimoy gave it a good shot as Master Xehanort, but I don't think any voice actor could have made his clunky dialogue sound convincing. That could also just be the script, though, which isn't exactly the most inspired piece of writing/localization. The two characters I had big issues with on that were Aqua and Terra, both performances suffering from a distinct lack of effort. Compared to previous games, it's a big let down.Įh, I thought it was pretty decent overall. It includes new story events, boss battles, the ability to switch between characters, a Limit Cut featuring 20 new boss battles, a secret episode, and an English language setting for Japanese. I agree to a point, but what I really disliked about BBS (probably the only thing I disliked) was the very uninspired voice acting. An expansion titled Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind was added to the game on Janufor the PlayStation 4 and Februfor the Xbox One.
